softer waves

’i am a soft, soft mountain.
broad and wide, vast and tender.
look, look, look
and find comfort in my presence.‘

about

reflecting the lines, movements and contours, admiring overhangs and fluctuations of the fat body,
’softer waves‘ connect the wearer with the force and potency of largeness, expand the body and ask the question why softness and roundness are celebrated in some contexts and rejected in others.

making

’softer waves‘ are shaped by hand from cernit modelling clay, resulting in unique pieces with a variety of organic shapes, finished with lacquer and the addition of a steel piercing.
