blob studio is an experimental space for object design. a playground for material and form combinations, it creates usable objects made by hand.
exploring the possibilities of combining play and topical condensation in an object that is close to our body is the heart of blob studio.
founded by hanni maierl in 2023.

As a designer hanni maierl explores the bridges from design to art and is interested in expanding the lines of design. her object work is based around the human body and the experiences it brings to live in one, especially a fat one.
her approach is experimental and encourages play and naive trial and error as part of the practice. her output is of the small serial or non-serial nature and manufactured by her, as part of the connection created between her and the object as well as her and the wearer.
she works mainly with the medium object, photography, text and voice.
important impulses are intersectional feminism and queerness as well as intuition and empathy.
